An Approver's Role

The role of the Approver is to ensure that only approved maps can be released into the Process Library.

There may be several approvers depending upon the requirements of your Process Library (refer to your Process Governance Framework). For example, there will be an approver for content and there may also be an approver to ensure that compliance to Standards and Regulations is maintained. A Map will not passed into Live until all the Approvers have approved the Maps.

On most systems, the Library Administrator will have set up automatic overnight publishing of maps to the Prelive site. Any maps arriving in the Prelive site that do not have a status of Approved trigger an approval required email to the required approvers, e.g. you.

The Approval is done by reviewing the maps in Prelive. If a map is acceptable, then it can be approved. If a map is not acceptable, a reason for the rejection can be added and then returned to the Author for rework.
